There are also search engines and directories in the Internet that
require payment for listing your sites.
These engines are used by ordinary Internet users in the search
for information, but they are also used by the other search engines.
The LookSmart search engine might be a good example.
The search results of this engine are used by such search engines
as Microsoft's MSN, AltaVista, iWon. There are also many other similar
examples. This shows that it does really make sense to submit your
sites to these engines.
The engines with paid submission are divided into two main subcategories:
First, there are engines that charge a payment for submission of
each URL (or several URLs). In fact, in this case you pay for the
submission itself. These engines are called "Paid Submission"
The other engine type is the ones where you pay for the listing
of your URL in the search results for a certain keyword. In this
case, the more you pay, the higher will be the ranking of your URL.
The procedure of submission to such engines is quite simple. You
visit their site and register. The personal account is created as
a result of the registration. First you put some money on your account
(it will be charged for payments), then you specify the rate you
are willing to pay for each URL for a certain keyword, and that's
it. When the money on your account is running low, you can always
make a reimbursement. One of the most popular machines of this kind
is "Overture".
